About Me!

My name is Julia Barrett and I am in the 5th Year MAT program at Pacific University in Forest Grove, Oregon. I am a native Oregonian who loves rain (and misses it very much-although revised statement am glad that it's back), my dog, the great outdoors, food, and spending time with my loved ones. I am currently working towards my Language Arts endorsement at the middle and high school levels with TAG and SPED endorsements to be added later on down the road.

I landed on a career in education after working at a middle school in Gresham. In addition to this, I worked in an elementary Special Education classroom in the Tigard-Tualatin school district. Before dipping my toes into the waters of education, I worked for a Lego Robotics program engaging K-12 youth in STEM education.

This blog (like the author of it) is a work in progress. I will go ahead and thank you in advance for your patience in this adventure.

This is my dog, Louie. He's a 10-year-old Yorkshire Terrier and gets away with a lot of things because he's cute. This little dude still adds a lot of great puppy energy to my life.

Lastly, the beautiful place I have the luxury of calling home. I'm a native Portlander, and the blue skies and sandy beaches of Sauvie Island on a summer day is one of my favorite activities. Summer in the Pacific Northwest is as close to nirvana as it gets. This is an abandoned lighthouse I enjoy hiking to, and the trip is well worth it.

That's all I have at the moment. Ciao for now (yes, I speak a little Italiano and Spanish if you'd like to converse in another language                                                                   sometime).
